A Travellerspoint blog

Welcome to Ha Noi

rain 30 °C

Well, after 17 hours of flying and 12 hours of waiting in airports we arrived, checked into CHARMING 2 Hotel, and then hit the streets. What a busy City! There are cars and motor cycles, bicycles and people on every street---seemingly moving in any direction they want to. Our first lesson was how to cross the streets. We are writing this blog, so we must have passed this lesson. Keith picks the path, makes his way and Helen holds tightly onto his shirt

Day Trip To HA LONG BAY

A must see when in Viet Nam. This area is a UNESCO world heritage site. After a bus ride through the country side, we cruised the bay and travelled among the spectacular rock formations, climbed a mountain and walked through the most amazing cave and then visited a floating fishing village before heading home late that evening.

Off to South East Asia

Getting ready to go.

After what seems months of preparations we are ready to go. For the next month starting October 25th our home will be in Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Thailand. Helen has us over-organized with a binder of reservations and tips on what to do. Of course we also have travel books and have spent all our free time reading.
